Over the last 25 years, I have gained valuable work experience in the fields of marketing, media production and communication through professional writing, videography, editing, photography, social media and website content management, and graphic design. I am currently the senior communications manager for the Purdue University College of Health and Human Sciences. For the past four years, I’ve written dozens of research articles, features and profiles. My role includes photography – for stories, social media and internal use – and videography. The videos are embedded in the stories or used for social media purposes. The videos range from two-minute longer pieces to 30-second short works perfect for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts or TikTok. My videos and stories are tops in analytics on social media and within our website.

As Butler University’s senior news content manager, I crafted internal pieces for the university’s stories site as well as news releases geared for external media exposure. Over the months, the pieces garnered earned media presence worth thousands. This position continued to enhance my customer relationship management experience through Salesforce Marketing Cloud as well.

Prior to Butler, I held the internal communications specialist role for IUPUI within the Indiana University Communications Studio. My primary tasks included writing stories, producing the visuals, and sending weekly e-newsletters to more than 30,000 students, faculty, staff, community members and media representatives.

Before my move to Indianapolis, I built the foundation of my career experience in Lafayette and West Lafayette, Indiana. I served as the communications and media specialist for the Purdue University College of Science for almost five years, where I wrote, edited, and shot photographs and videos for the college’s alumni magazine, e-newsletters and news releases. Before the jump to academia, I was a reporter, blogger, podcast host and videographer at the Lafayette Journal & Courier. For more than 12 years, I wrote and edited thousands of stories, shot and edited numerous videos and photographs, and designed pages.

My writing and video content earned state and national awards. My work with Purdue Science’s Insights alumni magazine received two American Advertising Awards. At the Journal & Courier, I won first place Hoosier State Press Association and Associated Press awards for stories and videos.
